Latino Business Leaders Meet in New York City
Latino business leaders and the heads of Latino Chamber of Commerce of the northeast meet in New York with corporate leaders to exchange ideas and to create working partnerships. The summit was hosted by the New York State federation of Hispanic Chambers, and sponsored by Staples, Coca Cola and Pfizer. Mayor Michael Bloomberg was honored as Health advocate of the year.
The goal is to not only establish business partners with Corporate America but to be the marketing partners as companies attempt to penetrate the Latino community. Alfred Placeres, President of the New York Federation stated " the statewide and local chambers are the best conduit for companies to really reach the emerging Latino community".
The CEO of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce Lenny Caro and Mark Jaffe, president of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce both pledge their support their local Hispanic Chamber s of Commerce. Both have assisted and partnered with major companies to embrace and financially support the Hispanic Chamber in their respective community. “We have generated thousands and thousands of dollars for Hispanic Chambers they were our partners in receiving financial and procurement opportunities from the Yankee stadium projectt” stated Mr. Caro. Mark Jaffee stated "It is our responsibility and in our best interest to be a financial ally with the Hispanic Latino Chamber of commerce". |
